Employment and Professional Career History

Robert G. Walker, P.A. Principle shareholder since January 1, 1992, with concentration in labor and employment, government law, and civil rights matters. The firm also provides related  commercial, corporate, litigation, and mediation services to institutional and commercial clients. The firm participates in several pro bono programs, including the providing of mediation services to the Clearwater Fair Employment Practices Agency which has a work-sharing agreement with the E.E.O.C. Tampa Area Office to resolve employment discrimination disputes. In addition, the firm provides legal services in the area of family law, administrative law, contracts, collective bargaining, torts, appeals, condominium law, debt collection, wills, trusts, and probate.

School Board of Pinellas County. Contract special counsel to represent the school system in labor, personal injury, administrative, constitutional, and civil rights claims, from 1988 to the present. (The school district consists of approximately 17,000 employees, and is the largest employer in the county. Contract awarded and renewed.)

Town of Indian Shores, Florida. Town Attorney, February 1988 to November 1992.

Holloway & Walker, P.A. Partner, January 1, 1988, to December 31, 1991 (Concentrating in the areas of administrative and governmental law, civil rights, public safety issues, personal injury defense for governmental agencies, and labor law). Admitted to practice in all state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Clearwater City Attorney's Office. Assistant City Attorney and Police Legal Advisory from February 1983 to February 1988 (senior assistant, 1986-88). Primarily responsible for personal injury, civil rights, and public safety litigation, legal advice, administrative actions, and law enforcement training. Also served as legal advisor to several boards and commissions (Airport Advisory Board, Code Enforcement Board, Board of Adjustment and Appeals, City Commission, Police Supplementary Pension Fund, etc.).

ADJUNCT LAW INSTRUCTOR. Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC), 1984-1988; adjunct faculty member at Florida Institute of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Institute (SPJC, formely Pinellas Police Academy), April 1989 to 1994.

State Attorney's Office, 6th Circuit. Assistant State Attorney (criminal prosecutor), May 1981 to February 1983. Assigned to prosecute traffic, local ordinance violations, misdemeanors, and felony cases.

Clearwater Police Department. Law Enforcement Officer, 1973 - 1978 (including one year undercover in Vice and Narcotics).

St. Petersburg Dept. of Public Safety. Public Safety Agent, 1972 - 1973 (dual-capacity, cross-trained police officer, certified firefighter, and arson investigator in experiment with conmbined public safety concept).
